India is the country of variations. There are different states with different cultures and different languages but the mother tongue of India is Hindi.
As we all know that British ruled very long time over India and their language was English. English language began in India in the 1830s during the rule of East India Company.
After independence in 1947, Hindi was declared the first official language. Due to protest from non-hindi speaking states, it was decided to temporarily retain English for official purposes until at least 1965. By the end of this period, however, opposition from non-hindi states was still too strong. Keeping this in mind, the English language Amendment Bill declared English to be an associate language. Thus English started and still widely used in India.
But the question is, English is only a language or class..? In India we give priority to those who speaks English. At schools, colleges, offices, etc. places everyone gives priority to those who speaks English,,,,, Why? Person speaking English doesn't mean he or she is brilliant and the person who speaks other languages doesn't mean he or she is dumb. No,,,, if person speaking English consider as brilliant than person speaking other languages are also brilliant.
Knowledge and class can't perceived with a language only, it includes a lot of things.
Its only the mentality of people that they consider english as a class, its only a language which is used for communication. And its upon the interest of people weather he or she likes to speaks English or not.
